How to Make it Big? Begin with the End in Mind

It benefits musicians who are just starting out to know what their goal is--begin with the end in mind.

What do you want out of your music career?  What is making it big?

Most artists dream of getting their music to the top of the Billboard Charts, which is great.  But some smaller, more realistic and attainable goals will help get you started on the path towards the top of the Rock Charts.  So what are you achievable goals?  Besides making it and playing it, what do you want out of your music?

For some it is as simple as forming a band, and having some friends to hang out with.  For others it might be actually the production of a studio album.   One band we know wants nothing more than groupies, and even the music is secondary to that.  For BANKRUPT SLUT, the band that the writer's of this website work with right now, the main goal is to grow to the point where the band doesn't have to do any promotion for its own shows.  So you could say that our main goal is crowd control--that is, getting the crowds to the shows!

To get there, the band's goal is to start playing more festivals, and make the band's music more accessible online.

But whatever you want from your music, it helps to identify what your goals are and how to get there.  Feel free to comment and share what your band's goals are.

Rock on~
