Do You Even Want to Make It Big?
Sounds like a simple question--and the simple answer is 'yes' from most everybody. Maybe. From most everybody. But not for the true artists.
If your goal is to make it big, you do whatever it takes to make that happen. But if you want to make good music, then you might not be in such a hurry to find stardom.
To prove the point, look at any band. Any band. And it seems like their best music was made when they were young and hungry. As the band grows bigger, they grow more comfortable, and many seem to lost that hunger, and the ability to make great music. Sure, these bands might still be able to crank out a hit or two, but the energy from the early days, and most of the magic, drains away as the band gets bigger.
If you want to keep making good music, stay hungry.
BANKRUPT SLUT is confident that we will make it big, but we are not in a hurry to get there. Our band's goal is to write as much music as we can before we make it big, so that once we do, there will still be a reservoir of kick ass music to be released. Right now, BANKRUPT SLUT has 50+ unreleased songs, and we feel confident that we have over 4 albums of solid material packed full of singles.
BS might be taking the slow road, but we are enjoying the view. See you at the top!
