What Does it Take to Make it Big in the Music Industry These Days?

The old model doesn't work any more.  Record labels aren't signing bands like they used to, and if they do current contracts offer no support, and want full rights to music, merch, and your first born son.  No money for recording.  No staff for support.

There is essentially no radio space available for new bands--most rock stations are playing the same songs from the twenty years ago.

On the other hand, modern media has made possible the opportunity for bands to expose themselves to a whole new world of fans directly.  But can the bands pry fans attention away from video games and YouTube enough to make them notice?

This blog will explore what does it take to make it big in the music industry in this day and age?
